Ashwaghanda - the queen of plants in Ayurveda
Sleep and anti-stress berry
The botanical name of Ashwagandha is Withania somnifera . Translated, it means "sleeping berry" because one of its outstanding effects is its sleep-inducing effect. It has a calming effect on the nervous system and has a rejuvenating effect on our cells, especially on the muscles and bone marrow. Ashwagandha stops the aging process and catalyzes the anabolic (building) processes in the body. Ashwagandha is one of the Rasayana plants with adaptogenic effects. Adaptogens are active plant substances that help the organism to adapt to physical and emotional stress situations.
The root of the plant is processed. This has bitter, astringent and sweet properties. In Ayurveda therapy, Ashwagandha helps with stress conditions such as exhaustion, weakness, overwork and lack of sleep. The root calms and strengthens the mind.
For libido weakness and infertility
Translated from Sanskrit, Ashwagandha means "that which has the smell of a horse", as this plant is said to impart the vitality and sexual energy of a horse. This plant is therefore also used for low libido and infertility, among other things. Ashwagandha regenerates the hormonal system. According to Ayurvedic medicinal plant science, the Dravyaguna, the plant has a Vata and Kapha reducing effect and is considered the "anti-stress plant".
