Ayurvedic Mango Lassi: a refreshing treat for hot days
Ingredients:
-
1 sweet mango
-
200 g organic yoghurt
-
200 ml water
-
1 pinch of clove powder
-
1 pinch of cardamom
-
Cane sugar or erythritol for sweetening
preparation
-
Peel the mango, cut it into small pieces and put it in the blender.
-
Add the yoghurt, water and spices and mix until a homogeneous mixture is formed.
-
Finally, sweeten to taste.
Ayurveda tip:
Drink the lassi at room temperature, as cold weather weakens your digestive power. Make sure the mango is well ripened, otherwise it will be too sour and increase your pitta.
The heat in summer upsets the digestive system of many people. Ayurveda recommends a Pitta-reducing diet during this time of year, which means we avoid spicy, sour, fatty and overly hot foods and drinks.
The mango lassi and the spices it contains have a slightly cooling effect and strengthen digestion.
