Ayurvedic almond butter made easily at home!
The Ayurvedic almond paste refined with cinnamon strengthens the nerve tissue and beautifies the skin.
Ingredients for the Ayurvedic almond paste:
-
400 g organic almonds with shell
-
1 tsp Ceylon cinnamon
-
Optionally sweeten with coconut blossom sugar for a sweet spread
-
A high-performance blender (e.g. Thermomix)
preparation
-
Boil the organic almonds briefly in water, drain and peel off the skin relatively quickly.
-
Roast the almonds in the oven at 120 degrees (hot air) for 15 minutes and then put them in the mixing bowl and grind for 2 minutes (in my Thermomix at level 5.5 - 6)
-
Then push the nuts down to the blade with a spatula, pause for a moment so that the mixer does not overheat, and grind again. Repeat the process until a creamy consistency is achieved.
-
Finally, season with cinnamon and optionally with sugar or simply enjoy it plain.
My tip: If you don't get the right consistency, just let the ground almonds rest for a couple of hours and try again. If that doesn't work, add a little almond oil.
Healthy fats should be an essential part of your daily diet. Fat is responsible for the hormones in our body and is part of our body structure, for example in cell membranes.
In Ayurveda, nuts are considered difficult to digest and should therefore not be eaten in large quantities, as this weakens our digestive fire/Agni.
